With streaming services becoming more prolific (more popular), they are seen as threatening to TV Broadcasters.

Apple Tv+ launched: November 1 2019

Disney+ launched- November 12 2019

HBO Max launched- May 2020

Peacock launched- April 2020


Advantages and Disadvantages of streaming platforms:

Advantages:

  • Wide range of shows and movies
  • Ability to have more than one account to avoid crossovers
  • You can watch anything whenever you want unlike Tv Broadcasters which are on a schedule
  • Portable and able to be downloaded
Disadvantages:
  • Services offered may be unsatisfactory
  • Some subscriptions may come at a hefty price
  • If your internet is down or weak the streams may be pixilated or unable to work

Forecast by analysts that Netflix subscriptions will increase to 8.45 million

  • Streaming boomed during the quarantine, viewing of internet video on TVs up 109% in March 2020 compared with the comparable four-week period in 2019.
