In 2017 Wasted talent bought Kerrang! magazine/ website and K! music awards from Bauer Media group but Bauer Media still retain the rights to continue broadcasting Kerrang! radio and Kerrang! TV

Kerrang! magazine is genre based magazine, specifically rock, that follows conventions of the genre in question which helps contribute to the success of the magazine due to the target audience they are trying to reach, being 15-34 year old men interested in the rock genre.

One convention of the rock genre within Kerrang! that contributes towards its success is the use of their consistent colour scheme
